# How to check a Nevada contractor license

ReviewsByCity lists Nevada contractor licenses. Licensed businesses are ordered by the published Standing Score, which is not a review score, and this site does not collect reviews. Use this page to read a listing, then confirm the license with the Nevada State Contractors Board before you hire.

## What a listing shows

Each licensed row has:

- **License number.** The board's identifier for that contractor. Copy it exactly, including any leading zeros.
- **Classification.** The class of work the license covers, such as C-1 for plumbing or C-21 for refrigeration and air conditioning. A business can hold more than one classification.
- **Limitation.** A restriction the board printed on the license, such as work limited to one specialty. The limitation is written out on the listing. A license with a limitation does not cover every job in that trade.
- **Expiration date.** Licenses that expire within 90 days of the board data used on the page are flagged.
- **Status.** Only a license the board lists as Active is labeled Licensed. Any other row is in the separate table "Other listings, license not matched" and is not described as licensed.

The city and ZIP are the mailing address on the license or the OpenStreetMap record. That is the business's office, not a map of where it works.

## Confirm it with the board

1. Open the [Nevada State Contractors Board public contractor listing](https://app.nvcontractorsboard.com/Clients/nvscb/Public/ContractorListing/ListingSearch.aspx).
2. Search the license number from the listing.
3. Check that the status is Active, that the classification covers the job, and that you have read any limitation.
4. Check the expiration date on the board's record. The date on ReviewsByCity is the date in the board file this site last loaded.

If the board's record and this site disagree, use the board's record. How the two sources are matched is on the [methodology](../methodology/) page.
